Headrush Dynamics & EQ
G EQ
Inspired by Revalver® Original (Plug-in)
It is a fixed-band, typical live/FOH style graphic equalizer (similar to classic 8-band stage EQs)
GENERAL FUNCTION
- Allows you to quickly change the sound
- Each slider controls one specific frequency
Ideal for:
- quick live fix
- general shaping
- elimination of feedback
Less precise than parametric EQ, but faster
Control Parameters
FREQUENCY BANDS
Each band has:
- Typical range: approximately −12 → +12 dB
- Control a precise area of the spectrum
60 HzdB
- Sub bass
Effect:
- boost → depth
- cut → less rumble
useful for:
- Bass
- kick
- avoid stage vibrations
100 HzdB
- Bass/punch
Effect:
- boost → body
- cut → less boom
fundamental area for:
- acoustic guitar
- male voice
200 HzdB
- Low-mid
Effect:
- boost → heat
- cut → minus “mud”
It is often cut slightly
400 HzdB
- Boxiness
Effect:
- boost → closed sound
- cut → more cleaning
Critical frequency
800 HzdB
- Central high schools
Effect:
- boost → “nasal” presence
- cut → more open sound
1.6 kHzdB
- Presence
Effect:
- boost → definition
- cut → softer
Important for intelligibility
3.2 kHzdB
- Attack
Effect:
- boost → clarity
- cut → less aggressive
Critical zone for voice
6.4 kHzdB
- Brilliance
Effect:
- boost → air
- cut → less harsh
Check the highs
LeveldB
- Range: approximately −12 → +12 dB
- Global EQ output
Compensates for volume variations
Pro Tips
- fixed bands → less precise
- excessive boosts → artificial sound
- too many cuts → energy loss
Better to make small interventions (±2–4 dB).
Live workflow:
- cuts problematic frequencies
- then add presence
- avoid extreme boosts
