Headrush Pitch
Chord Wham
Inspired by Digitech® Whammy (Poliphonic)
Advanced effect that combines:
- pitch shifting (whammy type)
- delay
- harmonious feedback
Can create:
- dynamic harmonies
- ambient effects
- Pitch dive/pedal style rises
GENERAL FUNCTION
- Duplicates the signal and shifts it in pitch (Mode)
- Control the movement with Pitch (%)
- Integrate delay + feedback to create textures
Result:
- rhythmic harmonies
- “glitch / ambient / cinematic” effects
Control Parameters
SyncY/N
- ON: delay synchronized to BPM
- OFF: free time (ms)
affects Delay
Delayms
Time between repetitions:
- short → slap
- medium → pace
- long → ambient
Fdbk%
Amount of feedback (repetitions):
- low → 1–2 repetitions
- middle → rhythmic coda
- high → loop / ambient
LPF FeedbackHz
Repetition filter:
- low → dark delay
- high → bright delay
avoid harshness
TailsY/N
- ON → delay continues after bypass
- OFF → immediate cut
Modes
Pitch range type:
- +2 oct: 2 octaves up
- +1 oct: 1 octave higher
- +4th: fourth above
- +5th: fifth above
- 1 oct: 1 octave lower
- 2 oct: 2 octaves down
- 2nd: second down
- 4th: fourth down
- 5th: fifth down
- Dive: pitch drops (whammy dive bomb)
Determines the harmony or effect
Pitch%
Controls the amount of pitch shift:
- 0% → no shift
- 50% → half range
- 100% → full range
Simulates whammy pedal movement
Offset%
Move the pitch relative to the signal:
- changes the behavior of the intonation
- creates variations between notes and repetitions
Used for more complex effects
Mix%
Dry/wet blend
- 0%: dry
- 50%: parallel
- 100%: effect only
Pro Tips
- High Pitch + High Mix → very noticeable effect
- High Fdbk → risk of “infinite loop”
- Long delay → can muddy the mix
- Offset → use in moderation
Powerful Use:
- Mode: +5th
- Delay sync → creates rhythmic harmonies
Environment:
- octave + feedback → sound cinematic
Quick Reference
- Sync: sync BPM
- Modes: pitch range
- Pitch (%): quantity shift
- Offset (%): pitch variation
- Mix (%): blend
- Delay (ms): delay time
- Fdbk (%): repetitions
- LPF Feedback: delay filter
- Tails
- decay after bypass
