Octave generator effect (octave type) adds one or more voices an octave apart from the original signal.
GENERAL FUNCTION
Duplicate the signal
Generate:
- octave above
- octave lower
Mixable with the dry signal.
Used for:
- thicken the sound
- create bass simulation
- synth effects
Control Parameters
Octave 1%
- Range: 0 – 100%
- Controls the level of the first octave
Typically:
- Octave 1 = octave down (−12 semitones)
Effect:
- low → slight reinforcement
- high → very full sound
Ideal for:
- create bass line
- give body
Octave 2%
Range: 0 – 100%
Controls the level of the second octave
Typically:
- Octave 2 = octave up (+12 semitones)
Effect:
- low → brilliance
- high → synth / organ effect
Mix%
- Range: 0 – 100%
- Blend between dry and octaves
Behavior
- 0%: dry only
- 40–60%: natural
- 100%: octaves only
Pro Tips
- complex chords → less precise tracking
- Octave 1 high → can become “muddy”
- Octave 2 high → artificial sound
Better to use:
- single lines for better tracking
