Variant of the octaver dedicated only to higher octaves designed for:
- add shine
- create shimmer/organ effect
- bring out the sound in the mix
GENERAL FUNCTION
- Duplicates the original signal
- Generate 1 or 2 octaves higher
- Mixes them with the dry signal
Result:
- "higher", open and defined sound
- synth / 12-string / organ effect
Control Parameters
Octave 1%
- Range: 0 – 100%
- First octave level above (+12 semitones)
Effect:
- 0–30% → light shimmer
- 40–70% → evident presence
- 80–100% → dominant sound
Adds shine
Octave 2%
- Range: 0 – 100%
- Second octave level above (+24 semitones)
Effect:
- low → fine detail
- medium → organ effect
- high → synth / artificial sound
Much more "ethereal" than the first octave
Mix%
- Range: 0 – 100%
- Blend between original signal and octaves
Behavior
- 0%: dry
- 30–50%: natural
- 60–80%: noticeable
- 100%: octaves only
Pro Tips
- Octave 2 high → can become artificial
- complex chords → less precise tracking
- High mix → loss of naturalness
Best used with clean or slightly crunchy sounds.
Perfect combination:
- Octave 1 medium
- Octave 2 lightweight
- Moderate mix
Add:
- reverb + delay → total shimmer
