DYN 7

Inspired by Shure® SM7

The DYN 7 is a virtual dynamic microphone based on the famous Shure SM7, a studio and broadcast standard

Main features:

  • Sound full, warm and controlled
  • High soft (never aggressive)
  • Excellent management of low frequencies
  • Very response smooth and natural

It is one of the most “musical” microphones in the HeadRush library.

Frequencies

  • Low → full and round
  • Medium → natural, slightly soft
  • High → blunt, never sharp

Compared to the Dyn57: less attack, more body

Dynamic response

  • Very controlled and linear
  • He doesn't overemphasize the pick attack
  • Perfect for sounds smooth and naturally compressed

Natural compression

  • Light compression felt
  • More "glued" sound in the mix
  • Less harsh than aggressive dynamics

BEHAVIOR IN THE MIX

  • It doesn't pierce too much → I sound more "study"
  • It fills well without being intrusive
  • Great for leads and cleans

Ideal when: the Dyn57 sounds too aggressive the sound is too bright
