4x12" Speaker

4x12 Scandinavian / high-gain voicing (BL) type inspiration:

  • Engl / Bogner / modern European amps
  • characteristics very controlled but deep low-end, mids more "hollowed" than British, high clean and defined (not Vox, not Marshall), answer very modern, translated perfect for, modern metal, tight rhythm, “produced” productions (not raw)

Mic Dist (inch)

VERY IMPORTANT

  • 0–1” → ultra tight
  • 1–3” → balanced
  • >3” → more natural
  • this cab -> maintains definition also very close to ideal for metal
Mic Axis (On/Off)
  • Hon → attack, definition
  • OFF → smoother
  • here -> ON very usable (less harsh than other cabs) OFF for lead
Low (dB)
  • negative → super tight
  • positive → more weight
  • already checked -> often 0 is perfect
High (dB)
  • negative → less fizz
  • positive → more clarity
  • here -> you can boost slightly without problems
Delay (ms)

Signal delay.

  • 0 ms → direct
  • 1–5 ms → depth
  • 5 ms → phase
  • useful for -> simulating modern multi-mic
Ambience (Y/N)
  • OFF → close mic
  • ON → simulated environment
Amb Level (dB)
  • low → natural
  • high → ambient
Amb Size (ms)
  • 20–40 → tight room
  • 40–80 → study
  • 80–120 → large

here: very useful to avoid too much “DI” sound

Suggested Microphones

This cab is:

  • already very balanced
  • very defined
  • a little "dirty"
  • SM57 → attack, mid focus
  • MD421 (all) → more body
  • SM7 (variants) → lead smooth
  • Rezio → very modern, perfect here

BEST MATCH:

Rezio → absolute top

here they make the sound more “analog” and reduce the hi-fi character

useful for avoiding too digital sound

U87 / 414 / 4047 / 4060

here they work very well and the cab supports the hi-fi

DIFFERENCE: you can also use them on high gain
