4x12 style EVH 5150 III cabinet (Celestion V30 modern voicing) features:

  • medium present but not intrusive

  • >3” → more natural
  • this cab -> very stable, also excellent for close mic
Mic Axis (On/Off)
  • Hon → more attack
  • OFF → softer
  • here -> ON used much less harsh than other cabs
Low (dB)
  • negative → tighter
  • positive → more body
  • this cab: bass already perfect → small boosts ok
High (dB)
  • negative → less bright
  • positive → more air
  • here -> often it is NOT necessary to cut you can also boost slightly
Delay (ms)
  • Useful for -> Simulating multi-mic modern stereo depth
Ambience (Y/N)
  • OFF → modern tight
  • ON → more realistic
Amb Level (dB)
  • low → natural
  • high → ambient
Amb Size (ms)
  • 20–40 → tight
  • 40–80 → study
  • 80–120 → large

This cab is:

  • SM57 → modern standard
  • MD421 (variants) → more body
  • SM7 (variants) → lead smooth
