KEY PARAMETER on this cab
- 1–2” → very bright
- 2–4” → ideal balance
- >5” → very airy
- DIFFERENCE -> This cab improves by moving the more natural mic away
Mic Axis (On/Off)
- Hon → very bright
- OFF → warmer
- HERE -> OFF is almost always better ON only for very dark mixes
Low (dB)
- negative → less boom
- positive → more body
- open-back: diffuse bass → don't overdo it
High (dB)
- negative → less harsh
- positive → more air
- VERY IMPORTANT -> it is often necessary to cut slightly (-1 / -3 dB)
Delay (ms)
Signal delay.
- 0 ms → direct
- 1–5 ms → depth
- 5 ms → ambient effect
useful for simulating real distance
Ambience (Y/N)
- OFF → close mic
- ON → simulated environment
Amb Level (dB)
- low → natural
- high → ambient
Amb Size (ms)
- 20–40 → small room
- 40–80 → study
- 80–120 → large
on this cab: it works very well, it emphasizes the “amp in room” character
Suggested Microphones
Here the choice of mic is CRITICAL, more than on other cabs because:
on this cab: they smooth the highs and maintain the “chime” without harshness
BEST MATCH: R121= perfect AC30 sound
here: super details risk of high pushes
use: OFF-axis almost mandatory
here they can become too “nasal” or aggressive
